Children's Hospital


Trustees of the Children's Hospital awarded the contract for the erection of the new hospital building at W. Buchtel and Bowery to the Carmichael Construction Co., at $428,598.

The excavating work was started Friday, December 10th, and it is their aim to have the building completed November 1st, 1927.

The Carmichael bid is for the building without refrigeration plant, other equipment and hospital details. The trustees hope to have the building ready for occupancy January 1st, 1928.

Today
Akron Children's Hospital is the largest pediatric care provider in Northeast Ohio. It cares for about 400,000 patients each year. Children's Hospital is a 253-bed pediatric hospital. It houses a regional burn trauma center for both adults and children, as well as a pediatric trauma center.
