Founded by Abraham Polsky in 1885, the company moved to its Main and Center Street site in 1930. One of Akron's leading department stores, it helped to initiate further commercial development south along Main. The building illustrates the Art Deco style of architecture.
The first story consists of display windows shaded by a marquee which runs along the entire length of the building. The top windows are all embellished with ornamentation above and below. Between original windows are buttresses which extend above the building. An addition has been made to the rear of the building.
